The opening reception of the Batman on Robin show at Mission Comics and Art in San Francisco is TOMORROW!  The FB even has over 450 people supposedly attending, which is bananas.  :O  Well, I'll be there, and I'll be reading my comic, alongside some other wonderful artists and buddies.

www.facebook.com/events/256018…

My comic is an over the top cheesy porno - I played to my own basest interests, sue me.  But if you would like to see yours truly in a Robin outfit reading her own comic erotica to a room which may just be filled with 450 people, come on down!!

Hi y'all!  Long time no see.

I pretty much took 2012 off to pursue offline art gigs and indulge in life.  It certainly affected how active I was online, but I don't regret lazing about. The past 12 months was a year of false starts: five projects I contributed comics or art to have yet to see the light of day, and some of them probably never will.  That was pretty discouraging, but the lot of an artist, I suppose.

I've also been too bogged down with meaningless personal stuff which I won't post about here but I'm sure will end up on my Tumblr.

Bottom line: gonna get back to drawing more.  Just bought a new desktop pc to power my comeback!  Expect more frequent updates but same terrible record of not reading anyone else's blog and inane rants on comics narrative structure.  Plus occasional naked butts.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hi folks,

I have no had any free time for a few months now!  Most of the art I have been doing lately has actually been legit paid work, which isn't as exciting and I can't show anyone yet. Heh.  I also update this place less!  The best places to find me are:

Twitter: agentagnes
Tumblr: agentagnes (and a new personal tumblr, bitchshield)

I will NOT be officially tabling at SF Zinefest, YaoiCon, or APE like I previously thought.  I will very likely be at Prism Comics' table for a signing during APE, and will either do the same or have a table at BentCon in LA in December.

I am currently brainstorming my next short comics project to then bundle with some other things into an anthology and see if I can get an LGBT publisher I have been talking with to publish it, because self-publishing is very fun but really exhausting!!

Catch y'all later!

Best,
Agnes
I am working on a few projects I can't really share yet, and I just signed on for another one with a book publishing startup.  Acrobats has been barely updated for months now and while I love my characters and story still, I really think it's best to put it on hold and come back to it when I can devote appropriate time and energy to a regularly-updated comic.  I was originally planning to get through chapter one and put out a booklet, but it would still take a while to get there, and now way am I just shoving an incomplete story into published format and peddling it to people without being able to tell them when the resolution will arrive!

I will be updating sketches and miscellaneous things now and again and I plan on having a table at APE, SF Zinefest, and Bent Con this year (jury is out for Yaoi Con!)  I'll update things here so no worries, but you can find agentagnes on Twitter, Wordpress, and Facebook, too.

Thank you all!!

Kisses,
Agnes

Hello everyone!  I am scanning in and fixing up a buncha sketches to show everyone, but it's slow going until Thursday.  In the meantime, I have to say I had a wonderful time at Wonder Con thanks in large part to the folks at Prism Comics.  Prism works to promote LGBTQ creators and works featuring LGBTQ characters.  And they are in fact now looking for more creators, specifically those of us who identify as:

lesbian
bisexual
otherwise queer female
trans
genderqueer/fluid
intersex
create comics about characters who identify as above
and anything that isn't essentially gay-identified cis men!

Prism is concerned about becoming the kind of boys' club mainstream comics is, so they asked me to recruit (ahem) for the cause.  If you fit any of these categories, please consider sending in your comics!  And please consider attending Bent Con in LA in December.  I will be tabling and am brainstorming panels on intersecting topics of comics and queerness.  If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know! :D

Soon off to Wonder Con in Anaheim!

I am going to hang around the Prism Comics booth now and again between doing my rounds.  I have two signings there: Friday at 5pm and Saturday at 4pm.  Plus, I will be participating in the panel THE BAD AND THE BOLD: PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES WITH LGBT CHARACTERS at 6:30pm on Friday.  I will not be at the con Sunday so if you'd like to say hi, the signings are your best bet!

Oh yeah, and re: Acrobats. I'm on a deadline for an illustration for another project, hence the delay.  I just started inking the next page so it should be up soonish.

I am nailing down my Wonder Con schedule.  Wonder Con is at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.  I should be there Friday afternoon and all of Saturday, not sure about Sunday.  I will not have my own table - rather, I will be hanging around the Prism Comics booth.  They have Picnic on the Moon, Disconnect, and Flesh Games for sale but no prints this time around. I will be doing a signing there, also, the time of which I will update soon!

This is the panel I'm participating in: "The Bad and The Bold: Pushing the Boundaries with LGBT Characters" Room 211AB.  Friday, 6:30-7:30pm!  Proudly brought to you by the letter B, if you didn't already know. :>

Stop by and say hi!!!

Hey guys!

So new page of Acrobats posted, as you saw yesterday.  I also have a Tumblr now!  In case you want to follow me there.  It will be duplicate updates that I post on Twitter, FB, and my Wordpress, also.

These past couple weeks I've been getting ready to move back to San Francisco, and doing job interviews, and a whole buncha other things.  I've got some anthology contributions in the pipeline and will advertise when all that comes out.  So don't worry, I'm not totally disappeared! :)  In the meantime, my plan is to get back to Acrobats at least once every two weeks.

Hello everyone.

So I am still alive and drawing.  My life is very hectic, however.

I have a few projects in the works that I can't show yet, and I have the next page of Acrobats pencilled.  However, I have to pack up and move house this month, at the same time as starting a couple classes at school and pet-sitting and working and trying to find a new job.  :\  Bear with me some more.
I'm editing this entry to keep the con list on the front page.

SF Zinfest - Labor Day Weekend, Sep 3-4, San Francisco
APE - Oct. 1-2, San Francisco
Yaoi-Con - Oct 21-23 (pending table confirmation, but I'll be there!)

I will also be participating in APE's Queer Cartoonists panel, moderated by Justin Hall of Glamazonia fame.  This will be on Sat Oct. 1st 5-6.

NEW: I'll also have a page in the Dirty Comics Erotic Art Show at the San Francisco Center for Sex and Culture!  The show's reception is October 7th, 6-9 PM.  I will be doing a talk on yaoi/BL at the center on October 13th, 7-9, with a few friends. :>

Money constraints are sadly keeping me from visiting SPX or registering for any spring cons at the moment.  I need to get back to producing more art, anyway.

xoxo,
Agnes

I need a break.

My brain is tied up with all kinds of stuff, my life is going all over the place, in good ways and bad, and I'm pretty burned out on art at this point.

My guess is that I won't produce much, if anything, until past September.  But who knows.  Thanks for sticking with me.

Ciao.
Hi guys!

Acrobats will update every other Wednesday starting 5/11 (I'm counting today as the 5/11 update; I usually update around midnight/1am the day before the official "update" day.)  Thanks for being patient, and for all the get-well wishes!  <3

So I made an entry on my blog about it, but in summary, I've been very sick and otherwise preoccupied with life things, which made me unable to draw the comic in the usual amount of time (which is now twice monthly?)  I'm still not feeling 100% so I can't guarantee if this is going to improve, but thanks if you're still reading.

WonderCon is in one week!  So soon...  My friend won't be able to make it, so I will probably share with my buddy :iconqueenvera:

Also, Prism Comics will have me signing at their booth 11am to noon, which will hopefully be mutually beneficial to both of us. :>

And just one week later, I'll be at MoCCA.  My first time tabling there and second time going, we'll see how it goes... I enjoy NYC a lot as I love bit cities. See you there!
Picnic on the Moon, my little scribbly autobio comic, now has its own section on the site.  What's up now is mostly older material, but I have plenty more that just needs to be scanned, and should be this week.  This is where I get to make my life seem ~very exciting~ and vent about things.

Enjoy. :)

Hello lovely everyone,

I just realized I've uploaded barely anything promoting my last illustration booklet, and I'm remedying that starting right now!  So you're gonna see more samples of the Horace Spiegelman book I did with :iconsocar:.  Also, I did a little tidying up in my shop, aaaannndd... went ahead and busted out my two adult comics for sale.  I've noticed 99% of my fans are past the legal age because my projects tend to be very wordy and serious and not really pandering to the teenage market, so might as well!  Check it out if you're interested! :)

Finally.  Fun Fact: our original due date for this was last April. lolz

Horace Spiegelman artbook is now in my shop!  It's a joint project of love between myself and Ms. :iconsocar:, who is a super talented illustrator and lovely person.

We'll be hawking this book, among other things, at Wondercon 2011 in April, and a week later I'll be tabling at MoCCA NYC. :D  Hope to see you there!

And just a quick note: thank you for the lovely comments on Acrobats.  I know I've been unusually flaky with posting lately, and like I keep saying it's a combo of things, not the least of which being that my usual crazy working pace has put strain on my wrist when inking, so no late-night multi-page marathons anymore.  I'm getting olllddd... :<  But hearing that people are still reading it helps keep me going, and I do cherish every comment and favorite.  Thank you so much!

Hello guys!

I used to have an LJ for updates, but now have moved to WordPress.  I do art and general updates there: agentagnes.wordpress.com/ …;

But since so many people watched me on LJ, too, I asked a friendly reader to make a syndicated feed for the WP blog: syndicated.livejournal.com/age… you can still follow me that way.

Or just stick to DA! :>

The East Bay Alt Press Book Fair is around the corner.  It promises to be pretty cozy!  Also, I just got a letter that me and Socar Myles are approved for WonderCon!  Yeah! :D

Hello everyone!

I updated my teeny store a little! agentagnes.com/sale.html … now includes:

*A link to the site of F*X*T Mag, because one of my illustrations is in the first volume!  You can get to the pre-order page here: fixitmag.bigcartel.com/ &… cannot tell you how big and beautiful this magazine is.  "Magazine" might be a deceptive word, because it's more like an artbook, full of illustrations, original comics, and an artist spotlight on C. Lijewski.  I can't tell you how hard Fawn must have worked on this; you really have to see it first-hand.  Aside from featuring my work (which I'm not getting paid royalties on or anything, so don't get cynical!) and the beautiful presentation, I also want this to succeed because we NEED a viable way to get quality original art and comics to the audience who still wants it in print format.  Go go Fixit!

*A link to Crown Royale Comics Anthology!  Still haven't bought one?  You better hurry, because they're halfway gone already, and there will be NO second print run!

*My mini-comic that I made right before APE this year, completely out of left field, perhaps: "No!  Bad Kitty!"  If you have a kitty, unless they are over 15 or a quadruple amputee, you probably identify with this material. Cheers!
